For Twenty Seven Names Winter 2014 collection entitled I’m Lost, designer’s Rachel Easting & Anjali Stewart looked to Belgian surrealist artist Rene Margritte for inspiration. Margritte’s influence was evident early on in the show, as the first model walked onto the runway wearing a black bowler hat and stylish black suit.

The collection was made up with a range of “classic preppy pieces, with light-hearted graphic all-over prints”.  This season the label’s signature print featured Margritte’s famed symbols, a bowler hat, green apple and beating heart. The pattern dominated a majority of the looks, including blouses, a suit and a mini dress with ruffle detailing, which will no doubt be a hit with the brand’s younger consumer’s.

The bowler motif also ventured into the label’s winter accessories, as cute broach pins and school girl socks. Highlights of the show were a stunning red ridding hood esque coat, an amazing red patterned dress and matching jacket, a cream fisherman style jumper and a to die for Camel coat.

The designer’s kept to an overall neutral colour pallet, consisting of mostly navy blues, blacks and browns, but ventured out into colour with their eye popping red metallic pieces and sweet baby pink shirt dresses.

This season Easting & Stewart once again proved why Twenty Seven Names is one of New Zealand’s hottest brands, due to their continuation of classic wearable pieces, with a funky art inspired edge. The ‘I’m Lost’ Winter 2014 is a fun, cute collection filled with all of your winter essentials from day dresses, jumpers, pants and cocktail attire. No doubt, come winter 2014 we will all be seeing you rocking your bowler hats and school girl socks!

NZFW DAY 1- Quick Update:

I am in the midst of NZFW, attending on behalf on NZ Blog macandmae.com and as usual it's chaos, very fashionable chaos, but still as hetic as ever!!

So far we have been spoilt with the Winter 2014 collections, my favourites so far are Twenty Seven Names, Coop and Hailwood. Today we have Stolen Girlfriends Club and Trelise Cooper which will be very exciting.

I will post my articles for Mac & Mae later, but thought I should just do a quick post to keep you all updated - via my instagram feed.

Kate Bosworth marries Michael Polish:

Actress Kate Bosworth married long time love Micheal Polish in a intimate yet lavish ceremony in Pittsburg, Montana yesterday.

The 30 year old fashion darling wore a stunning ivory Oscar de la Renta gown and Jimmy Choo heels. The notoriously private couple chose to release photos from their big day to Martha Stewart Weddings, as did Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

Kate was tight lipped about her upcoming nuptials, but in a recent interview in the September issue of Instyle UK, the star stated  "I can give you one detail: it's not the norm, and whisky will be involved".

NZFW is fast approaching and chaos is in the air! However, I recently found time to write an article for macandmae.com about what to bring to NZFW, so if you like many of us fashionistas are struggling on what to bring, look no further! Here is my official guide on all things NZFW:

Yes, this is the envitable question that we ask ourselves every year, so I thought it was about time we broke down the list of our fashion week essentials.

“My phone, business cards, Kora organics lig gloss and MAC mascara are on constant rotation in my bag all year round. But come fashion week, I tend to lean towards larger bags, like my Mulberry Alexa so I can fit everything in: including my Delegate pass, laptop, recorder, pens, and a notebook as you may want to jot down notes in-between shows…and a camera is always handy! I always bring an umbrella as you never know when it is gong to rain! And if I’m wearing heels, flats are a must have in my bag – the worst thing working at an event is having to worry about sore feet! A little bottle of Chanel never hurt either!”

Taylor Tomasi Hill

Fashionista, ‘It Girl’ and creative director of Moda Operandi Taylor Tomasi Hill is a regular fixture at fashion week around the globe; and always manages to look effortlessly stylish and chic with her distinct tomboy style. When Taylor chatted to Refinery 29 she gave readers her tips for fashion week, she states:

“Being comfortable is a huge part of getting dressed, because I spend a ton of time running around the city from appointments, to meetings, and in and out of the office. Anything too tight, short, or high just doesn’t work with my lifestyle. I also feel like I have to be practical. I go to Fashion Week in every city and packing for a 27-day marathon can be pretty challenging. Basics save my life!”

Dakota Fanning stuns at Venice Film Festival:

Dakota Fanning is a regular fixture on the fashion scene, so it was no surprise that the talented 19 year old actress, looked simply stunning at the preimere of her new film Night Moves at the 70th Venice International Film Festival on Saturday.

Dakota wore a breathtaking midnight blue Elie Saab gown, featuring a stunning sparkling glitter embellishment.  She stuck to her signature straight platinum blonde hair, with minimal makeup, showing off her natural beauty.

At a press call earlier in the day, Dakota channeled her inner fashionista, donning a creme Alexander McQueen mini dress, paired with an elegant pair of red Rupert Sanderson stilettos. 

Yesterday the ethereal beauty showed off another stylish outfit, wearing a sophisticated all black ensemble by Viktor & Ralph at the Venice Film Festival Terrazza Maserati showcase.

With three hit outfits so far, there's no doubt about it. all eyes will be on Dakota to see what the stylish star wears next! So keep posted! 

Taylor Swift VMAS:

Taylor Swift looked stunning in this Herve Leger dress at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which was held at the Staples Centre in Brooklyn, New York last night.

The country music superstar channeled Old Hollywood glamour for one of music's biggest nights, in this beautiful navy Herve Leger creation which retails for £2249. 

Taylor certainly showed ex Harry Styles what we was missing in the figure hugging number. The One Direction hearth throb was pictured engaging in a close encounter with the star as she accepted her award for Best Female Video for her number one hit 'I knew you were trouble', which was ironically written about Styles.

Taylor gave her former flame a special mention in her acceptance speech saying "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song who knows exactly who he is because now I got one of these", with the camera panning to a smirking Styles seated in the audience.

This glamour Old Hollywood style is a new look for the country music star, who is known for her signature straight hair. However, this new sophisticated style direction, will be one style goers will be very eager to keep an eye on, and with a slew of red carpet events and Grammy season not too far away, it won't be long before we know if this new 1940's do' will stick. So keep posted! 

First Official Royal Portrait:

The first official royal portrait of Prince George with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been released today. The new parents decided to eschew the idea of a traditional royal portrait in favour of a candid family shot as they feel it portrays more of a family environment.

The photographs were taken by Kate's father Michael Middleton, in the family's home in Berkshire. Kate looked her usual pristine self in the candid shot, wearing a £46 fuchsia dress by maternity brand Seraphine, with William dressed in a casual blue check shirt. 

The decision to release a candid shot, highlights just how modern this young royal couple are, as they continue to break with royal traditions. 

Kate is said to make her first public appearance since the birth of her son on September 12 at the Tusk Conservation Awards, which aims to help conservation efforts in Africa. No doubt fashion goers will be on the style watch to see what fabulous ensemble the Duchess wears next - I know I will! So keep posted!
