Trelise Cooper is one of the main highlights come fashion week, and this year was no exception. With the iconic designer pulling out all the stops to create a magical and theatrical show that we will no doubt still be talking about next season!
Yes today’s Winter 2014 collection was like no other, with a raised catwalk and incredible teepee. I think it’s safe to say that Trelise has once again outdone herself – though who could have thought after last year’s outstanding illuminated show?
First up – we have Trelise’s diffusion line Cooper. This season, taking inspiration from an “English country manor, for an adventure full of old-world romance”. This theme was evoked through the use of tartan, English rose, stipe and stained glass patterned fabrics. As usual Trelise didn’t hold back on the glamour, with sequin tartan, dramatic stud detailing and beading embellishments.
Highlights of the collection were the polka dot and navy pants, the stained glass window skirt, white checked dress, white sequin dress and of course the epic studded pants! As the last model sashed down the runway in an amazing sequin tartan mullet skirt, the lights dimmed down, and a tepee appeared – set and ready for the Trelise Cooper Winter 2014 collection.
For her main line Trelise went all out, with an outstanding collection that will make you want to break the bank! “A captivating darkness runs through this collection, from lavish textures and dramatic shapes, to prints you can’t draw your eye away from”. From the first step on the catwalk the audience became entranced in this captivatingly breathtaking show full luxurious fabrics, amazing prints and high glamour.
Every piece was perfection, from the pink and green patterned dress and colourful sequin dress to the pink stripped and multi patterned cocooned coats, the monochrome checked dress and sequin floral top to the amazing red ring master coat and stunning gold sequin finale dress.
This was an exceptional show that surpassed all my expectations. Once again Trelise has proved why she is the reigning Queen of New Zealand fashion with this phenomenal Winter 2014 Collection.
